Happily stuck in Lodi…
After living in the city for almost forever and one of us (dear old husband) born and raised in San Francisco, we decided, what if? What if we wanted to change our reality, make our own wine, always eat homegrown tomatoes, and eat farm fresh eggs everyday? What if we still wanted to go to the museum, be artists, and share our bountiful food with our country and city friends? What if we could merge all that we loved and be happy with who we were, what we nurtured, and the art and sustenance we created?
So now we’re experimenting with the “what ifs,” by attempting to sustain our vision of connecting outside the electronic grid. We connect with Wine. Art. Food. The experiment begins here, in Lodi with a ranch house built in the 60’s, our trusty farm dog, our growing children, one day job and wine maker (farmer #1), one writer (farmer #2), and a whole lot of love and trial and error. Hits and misses. We invite you to try our wine – a wonderful hit if we say so ourselves. We’ll tell you stories on our blog of other hits (art, homesteading, friends’ art) and wisdom from the near misses. If so inclined, come over and sit on our porch adorned with mismatched rocking chairs and watch the kids, so we can take a long needed nap. Living well is hard work.
